    Jesse James Home

    Notorious outlaw Jesse James was shot and killed in this house on April 3, 1882. He was killed by Bob ford, a member of the James gang, to collect a $10,000 reward offered by Governor Tom Crittenden. Today the James Home is a museum dealing with the life and death of Jesse James.

    Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art

    The Albrecht-Kemper is home to an extraordinary group of colonial portraits, rich holdings of American landscapes as well as distinguished examples of American Impressionism and post-Impressionist artists of the Boston School. The museum also features work by important 20th century artists and a growing contemporary collection.

    Pony Express Museum

    On April 3, 1860, a lone rider left on horseback from the gates of one of the nation's most historic landmarks- the Pony Express Stables in St. Joseph, MO. Today the stables continue to stand as a tribute to the legend and legacy of the Pony Express era. Come and experience the many exiting, educational, state-of-the-art exhibits conveying the need, creation, operation, and termination of the Pony Express. Tour guides and group rates available. Open daily year-round from 9am-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm. Closed most major holidays.

    Glore Psychiatric Museum
    The Glore Museum chronicles early history of 'psychiatric' treatment through a series of dioramas, models and reproductions. It also explains the more than 125 year history of St. Joseph State Hospital. Addmission is free, but donations are accepted.
